The 4 was the least used, as it didn't provide any benefits over the 3, which is lighter. The 5 is a bit heavy for the length to EDC. The 6 is a bit longer that I need for everyday camp needs. The LS strikes a good balance (pun intended) between size/weight/and ergos.

I think ESEE makes some of the best knives when it comes to function vs price. I know you have the ESEE 4 listed, but my choice would have been the ESEE 6. Fallkniven makes some very good knives as well especially if you are looking for Stainless blades. Their F1 in VG10 is equivalent to the ESEE 4 and the S1 (5 inch blade) or A1 (6 inch blade.

#1 So, I got the opportunity to use an Esee 4 over the weekend, along with a Gransfor's Bruks Small Forest Axe. I really liked the Esee 4, but the owner said I'd be better off going with the Esee 5. Especially since I do a lot of bushcrafting projects, (Obviously).

Just what I was looking for I have several 3's and 4's, 2 LS, a Junglas, CM6, and a 5. I "collect"., well, "just gotta have" more than I use them, though I do carry a 4S-CP, Becker neck knife, and an Emerson Super Commander for "emergencies" and a Ritter Mini-Griptillian and "razor" for every day use, but do have a "thing" for knives, LOL!
